Dr. Elvis Japhleth, hailing from East Kwaio, Malaita Province, Solomon Islands, pursued his medical degree at the University of Papua New Guinea. He specialized in surgery, becoming the first surgeon from his village after a rigorous four-year Master of Surgery training. He earned a Gold Medal from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons for his outstanding performance.

Dr. Elvis Japhleth has been instrumental in advancing laparoscopic surgery in Papua New Guinea. Since March 2019, he has been offering laparoscopic surgery at Sopas District Hospital, providing minimally invasive surgical options for patients. His expertise includes performing laparoscopic procedures such as cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and other general surgeries.

Dr. Japhleth's dedication to bringing advanced surgical techniques to his community has significantly improved patient outcomes and surgical care in the region. Dr. Elvis Japhleth served as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Enga Provincial Health Authority (EPHA) in Papua New Guinea. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing the operations, management, and development of health services in the Enga Province. His role involved ensuring the provision of public and curative health services, managing the organization's budget, and liaising between the Board and the management team.

Dr. Japhleth's leadership focused on improving healthcare delivery, enhancing service accessibility, and promoting transparency and accountability within the health authority. He worked closely with various stakeholders, including the Provincial Government, District Development Authorities, and local communities, to address health challenges and implement effective health programs.

Under his guidance, Enga PHA made significant strides in providing quality healthcare services to the people of the Enga Province, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
